The purpose of this meditation is to practice the art of meditation and try to focus on meditation technique, and then to meditate on this in light of equalising self and others.

I began with breathing meditation and then moved on to the next stage.

I took Bodhichitta as my meditation object. I thought again about climbing a wall using the six perfections as handholds, and my Spiritual Guide pulling me on my safety line. I recreated the feeling of meaning and progress, and tried to keep my mind from wandering away from this feeling.

When I found my mind wandering, or the feeling becoming less strong, I tried to recreate it and focus on it.

Simple as that!

I then thought about what this means in light of equalising self and others.

Equalising self and others is about equalising my love for myself and my love for others. To actually be able to do this I need to plant the Lamrim deep within my mind. To do that, I need Tranquil Abiding. With this in mind, I returned to my meditation on Bodhichitta, with a special emphasis on concentration.

Dedication

May all living beings develop the highest concentration, and attain enlightenment for the benefit of all.

Practice in the Meditation Break

I will try to keep a clear and focused mind today.
