The purpose of this meditation is to understand the preciousness of our human life, and then to consider what it means in light of the wish that all living beings attain permanent peace and happiness.

I began with some breathing meditation before moving on to the main meditation.

I started by considering the special circumstances of my life, and what makes it precious. The opportunity my life offers me derives mainly from the fact that I am alive at a time when a Buddha has taught. Because of this I can mix my mind with Dharma and I have a chance to attain enlightenment. With this simple thought I focused on my mind mixing with Dharma and the preciousness of my human life…

After a while I thought about what this means in light of wishing love.

It seemed to me that my human life offers me to opportunity to develop wishing love for all living beings, and to implement that love. With this in mind, I returned to my meditation on the preciousness of my human life.


May all living beings contemplate their precious human life, and through this understanding, quickly use it for the benefit of all.
