The purpose of this meditation is to generate a wish to not commit negative actions and then to consider what this means in light of wishing love.

I began by mixing my mind with my Guru’s stability and stillness, and when my mind had stopped racing around like a shopaholic in a town centre where all the shops are giving away free stuff.

I started by thinking about karma, and how if I can maintain a virtuous mind, this will stimulate virtuous karma to ripen. I focused on the feeling of maintaining a contented mind, completely satisfied with things just as they are. I let this feeling fill my mind and I focused on it…

After a while I thought about wishing love.

It seemed to me that with a mind of contentment, I had SO MUCH space in my mind for wishing others to be happy. I felt very peaceful and outwardly focused, and I remained in that place till the end of the meditation.
