The purpose of this meditation is to understand the kindness of all other living beings, and then to see what this means in light of giving.

I began by doing breathing meditation, and after a while moved on to the main meditation.

I began by thinking once more about how all living beings are my kind mother. It seemed to me that they are still giving me their love, but in a form appropriate to their current appearance. Some are overtly helping me. Some appear to be presenting obstacles, but in fact they are giving me the opportunity to practice virtues such as patience. They are giving me perfect conditions to practice Dharma. I focused on this feeling of practising virtue and accepting their help for the rest of the meditation.

I then thought about what this means in light of giving. What is the most appropriate thing to do in response to the kindness of others? To give! To give love, patience, support, offerings, fearlessness, material gifts, Dharma, time and friendship. It is difficult not to feel this way when I consider how all other living beings are helping me right now. With this in mind, I returned to me feeling of being grateful to others for their help, and focused on it for the rest of the meditation.

May all living beings see their mothers in others, and quickly attain the enlightened state of the Guru for the benefit of all.
