The purpose of this meditation is to generate a recognition of the preciousness of our human life.

I began with the appropriate preparations and then started by thinking about how I have become aware of my mind. I have become able to still my mind and cultivate calm. How many living beings around me do not have this opportunity?

Animals do not have the capacity to u dear stand their minds. Most people do not meditate, and many find the only way to become lifted out of themselves is to turn to drink or drugs.

Through great good fortune I have found Buddhadharma and methods to train my mind. I can use these to attain permanent liberation.

I contemplated these points and developed a feeling of being extremely grateful for my opportunity, and determined to make the most of it. I focused on this for the rest of the meditation.

May all living being have the opportunity to practice Buddhadharma.

Practice in the Meditation Break

I will try to always remember how fortunate I am, and not squander this opportunity.
