The purpose of this meditation is to generate a wish to purify our mind.
I began with the appropriate preparations for meditation. I then started by thinking about the eight worldly concerns. It occurred to me that although I am concerned with these things now, they will be irrelevant when I die. Since I could die today, it is difficult to get too excited about resources, respect, pleasure, reputation or praise. What should I focus on instead? Pure practice – the steady pure actions of a pure Dharma practitioner.
I focused on this wish for the rest of the mediation session.
May all living beings find their pure spiritual practice.
Practice in the Meditation Break
I will try to bear I. Mind that I am trying to be a pure practitioner, bringing the six perfections and the commitments and precepts of training the mind into my daily life.
