The purpose of this meditation is to generate a strong feeling of wanting to free all living beings from their suffering, which leads us to Bodhichitta.

I began by making the appropriate preparations for meditation and then reviewed the meditation instructions of Geshe Kelsang in his book ‘How to Understand the Mind’.

I thought about the point that Geshe-la makes that compassion makes all our actions pure. This was such a beautiful point that I did not think much more past this sentence. With a heart of compassion, we cannot perform non-virtue because all our actions are heading towards freeing all living beings from suffering.

I focused on this idea of becoming more and more pure through the practice of compassion, until it was all that appeared to my mind.

May all living beings become pure through the practice of compassion.

Practice in the Meditation Break

I will try to keep a mind of compassion at all times.
