The purpose of this meditation is the generate the wish to destroy our self-grasping mind.
I made the appropriate preparations for meditation and then started by considering that there is not a single problem that is not related by my self-grasping mind. Because objects appear to exist inherently, when I perceive them I naturally assent to this mode of existence. Because object appear separate from my mind, I develop attachment to those that appear pleasant and anger towards those that appear unpleasant. I then engage in negative actions which in turn leads to my experiences of suffering. All my suffering arises from my self-grasping mind.
I focused on a wish to destroy my self grasping mind, source of all my problems. I settled on this as the object of my meditation
May all living beings abandon the origin of their suffering.
Practice in the Meditation Break
I will try to remember my wish to break free of my self-grasping mind.
