The purpose of this meditation is to generate a strong feeling of wanting to make every second of our lives count.

I began by making the appropriate preparations for meditation and then brought to mind my precious human life. I want to blossom into the flower of my full spiritual potential. But this opportunity will not last forever. In fact it may not last the day.

I contemplated this point deeply. It seemed to me that my opportunity became so much more precious. I cannot control when death will come, but I can control what I do with the time I have. I settled on the feeling of working to find Dharma in my everyday life, to cherish others, to remember Bodhichitta, to recognise the effects of karma and to remain aware of the lack of inherent existence of all phenomena. I kept this feeling for the rest of the meditation.

May all living beings use their time wisely.
