I was thinking about this today. It seems so simple. The fact is that when we try to do things to make ourselves happy, it can take a long time to finally reach that point of fruition of our efforts. During this time we are, by definition, either unhappy or we have incomplete happiness. And there is never a guarantee that those efforts will produce any actual happiness at all. But if we do experience happiness, it is short lived.

But if we work for the happiness of others, we can’t lose.

If we decide that our happiness comes from our effort to make others happy then so long as we work for others happiness, we are happy. We are happy throughout the process – not just at the end. We are happy even if the other person does not feel happy. We are in a win win philosophy.
