At the beginning of a new year we think about what we would like to achieve in the coming twelve months.
The new year feels like a fresh start, when we can begin again.
There are so many lessons in this feeling – the one I would like to focus on is that we Kadampas engage in all our actions within the mind of Bodhichitta: our compassionate wish for others to be free from suffering while simultaneously recognising that our attainment of enlightenment is the best way of achieving this.
Through our practice of Lamrim, we come to love each and every living being. Now, with Bodhichitta motivation, may we live the love we feel for others by making steady progress on the path to enlightenment.
